One tyre supplier??????
Ok im going to bounce this one out...... FLAV: F1 NEEDS ONE TYRE SUPPLIER Renault team principal Flavio Briatore has entered the debate on tyres, suggesting that Formula 1 could be better off with just one supplier. The flamboyant Italian was responding to questions in a press conference in Madrid about Kimi Raikkonen's controversial retirement on the last lap of the European Grand Prix where a flat-spotted right-front tyre led to a catastrophic suspension failure. Briatore indicated that tyre performance has now become the single most significant factor in the outcome of a race. "The sport is becoming more of a tyre championship rather than a car one," said Briatore. "There are two tyre manufacturers in the sport but it would be far more logical if there was just one. "We have tested the tyres for some 40,000 km and we still can't predict everything that will happen and you only have to look what happened to Raikkonen at Nurburgring." Renault's Fernando Alonso was the beneficiary of Kimi's retirement, but the Finn had the world championship leader beaten for the third race running until the incident occured. But while Alonso's performance advantage appears to be slipping away, Briatore put an interesting spin on the situation. "If we won all the time, we'd be as unpopular as Ferrari and we want to avoid that," he said. "We enjoy being a team that everyone likes." "We've won five out of the seven races this season, but you can't win every time and the important thing is to be competitive." So what does everyone think one tyre supplier???? I would rather it stays with two, as it gives a cilantro diversity and throws another cat among the pigeons. X_samz_X

I never quite know what to do with this question in someways it may make things more evenly matched and i agree with flav (shock horror) that the tyres are too much of a factor in how quick the car is, i really don't think they should be that important.
